Frequently Asked Questions
I understand you may have questions regarding my services or my therapeutic approach to counselling. Feel free to visit my FAQ’s below, and if you’ve still got questions, I’m here to support. Feel free to get in touch below!
What are your rates?
Typically, sessions are 50 minutes long and cost $180. Longer sessions, such as 80 minutes, are available for $250. A limited number of sliding scale spots are offered for those experiencing financial difficulties. Feel free to reach out for more information.
What is the cancellation policy?
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in a therapists’ day that could have been filled by another client. As such, I require 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Clients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged for the full session.
How often should I see a therapist and for how long?
Most folks come in once per week or once every two weeks, others have a regular monthly appointment, and still others who may have fluctuating schedules choose to book online around their schedules. I recommend regular appointments and consistency, especially at first, however, I understand and respect that this may not be realistic for everyone.
How long depends on you and your intention for therapy. If you are looking for short term therapy you can expect approximately 6-12 sessions that focus on practical solutions. With longer term therapy (12 sessions +) you can expect to work at a deeper and more nuanced level to address longstanding patterns and work towards a more whole and fulfilling life.
Ultimately, it is up to you. You do not need to know now, you are always welcome to change the frequency of your sessions, should my schedule be able to accommodate, or discontinue therapy at any time.
What is your Covid policy?
I am thrilled to be able to offer in-person sessions. Please have a quick read of my communicable disease prevention plan in accordance with Phase 3 of British Columbia’s restart plan and current WorkSafeBC in-person counselling protocols.
Masks are no longer mandatory. I am happy to follow your lead on wearing a mask or not, whatever is most comfortable for you.
